Hikmah Foundation is an Islamic institution that is dedicated to preserving and promoting Islam and the Islamic sciences.
About Us
Hikmah Foundation was founded in 1985 by Mawlana Dr. Muhammad Sekandar Ali Ibrahimy (rahimahullah), professor of Islamic Studies at Rajshahi University, as an educational and charitable organization in Bangladesh. After his passing in 2020, his family wished to revive his organization in the United States for the benefit of their local community and beyond.

At Hikmah Foundation, we envision a community of Muslims that strives to emulate the Sahaba, the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, through carrying out the tasks which he entrusted to us. Through conviction in faith and excellence in spirituality and character, we envision a world where the entire Muslim community worldwide proudly carries on the Prophetic legacy that the greatest community left behind for us.

All of our faculty have ijazat (traditional licenses) in the Islamic sciences, such as qira’at, tafsir, hadith, fiqh, and ‘aqida, which link them directly to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. They have studied under and received ijazat from shuyukh from around the world, including Mawlana Fazlur Rahman Azmi, Mufti Ebrahim Desai (rahimahullah), Mawlana Muhammad Abdul Malek, and Mufti Ruhul Amin Qasimi.
